Part 1: Mungo Outback. Wildlife Guide: Roger Smith

Highlights of this part of the trip include: Western Grey & Red Kangaroos in big numbers, Major Mitchell’s Cockatoos, Red-backed Kingfisher at nest, Black Falcon, Regent Parrot, Chestnut-crowned Babbler, Black-tailed Native-hen. Total of 80 birds, 2 mammals, 2 reptile species seen.

Part 2: East Gippsland and the Western Treatment Plant. Wildlife Guide: Martin Maderthaner

Highlights of this part of the trip were: 11 Echidnas seen, 12 different raptor species including Wedge-tailed Eagle, White-bellied Sea-eagle; Burunnan Dolphin, Humpback Whale, Koala, Wombat, Powerful Owl, Pectoral Sandpiper, Grey Plover, Banded Lapwing, Hooded Plover and Red-necked Avocet. In total 174 birds, 12 mammals & 9 reptiles seen on this part of the trip with Wildlife Guide Martin.

Part 3: the Great Ocean Road & Mount Rothwell. Wildlife Guide: Emma Swann.

Highlights of this part of the trip include: Glow worms, Cape Barren Geese, Koalas, Long-nosed Potoroo, Black-faced Cormorant, Barn Owl, Grey Goshawk (white morph) and Eastern Barred Bandicoot, Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby & Rufous Bettong (in Mt Rothwell conservation area). Total of 10 mammals, 82 bird species seen.
